How to Take Care of a Hair Weave

If you do have a hair weave you need to be able to maintain it for as long as you can. If the hair weave that you have is an expensive one then you certainly need to take care of it so that it will last.

One of the advantages of maintaining your hair weave very well is the ability to use it again when it’s time to get it redone. Generally if the hair is a good quality and you have cared for it well it can be used again.
The weave needs to be treated as you would treat your own hair, as a matter of fact think of it as if it were your own hair and it will reward you by lasting longer.

You should also maintain your hair weave by conditioning it with the proper conditioners. Don’t use cheap shampoos and products that kill the luster of the strands. The strands of your hair weave can get very dull and split if they are not given the right products. Remember it is still hair and will respond just as your natural hair.

Blowing drying should be limited as much as possible with your weave. Blow drying can cause the weave to become very dry and brittle and once again just like poor quality products it will cause numerous split ends and very dry, dull hair.

All other treatments apply all the same to maintaining your hair weave. Treatments such as colors, perms are all harsh and if done they should be followed up with good products to maintain the treatment.
